Rural Electrification Pathways: An Implementation of LEAP and GIS Tools in Mali

چکیده
Remote rural populations do not often have the luxury of viable multisource electricity generation systems. Considering fossil fuels for remote populated areas is a option due to fuel transportation costs and population’s socioeconomic status. Extending grid economically prohibitive. This paper proposes possible ways in which Mali could increase rate population with access by 2050 using Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) geographical information tools. The current energy situation assessed, multiple demand supply scenarios are created find most environmental economic dimensions. A minimum 50% reduction biomass consumption residential sector maximum 71% was achieved through combination extension decentralized solar PV. Solar PV becomes preferable when enough time effects on income given. When these present, still better option, as amount replaced reduced.
